The useful question is how much of dinner you can hand over—and how much work is waiting afterwards.

Ninja Foodi OL750EU · 7.5 litres

Power: 230V, 1,760W. The Italian product page labels 57.2 × 41.61 × 46.89 cm and 15.3 kg as product measurements. We have not independently resolved whether these reflect the operating appliance or a packaged configuration; confirm the actual footprint and lid-open clearance before planning a tight kitchen around them.

Fourteen cooking functions: pressure, steam meals, steam air fry, steam bake, steam bread, air fry, grill, bake, dehydrate, prove, sear/sauté, steam, slow cook and yoghurt. It also has keep-warm, automatic pressure-release choices and a food probe with preset or manual targets.

SmartLid switches modes without changing lids. The removable pot, two-tier rack, Cook & Crisp basket and multi-purpose tin support different meal arrangements.

A timer should take a decision off your evening

Sakura’s preset is a finish-after timer: you set how many hours ahead the food should be ready. You do not simply tell it to start at that time. The manual lists a window of up to 24 hours, with programme-specific minimums.

For someone who knows when dinner is happening, that can be more useful than opening an app during the commute. Sakura manual, preset section.

The distinction matters in practice. Decide whether you want food ready at a predictable time, a notification when it is done, or permission to change a programme remotely. These are three separate capabilities. We have not verified app-based remote cooking for either model here.

Sakura: hand over the rice, with useful secondary jobs

Yum Asia documents steaming, slow cooking, soup and porridge among Sakura’s additional functions. That makes it relevant when your routine is rice most evenings, vegetables sometimes, and a soup or slow-cooked dish on another day. It does not mean that every dish can run simultaneously. Manufacturer’s function guide.

The everyday benefit is less attention at the hob. The remaining work is measuring, any preparation your recipe requires, loading and cleaning. Its bowl and inner lid are explicitly not dishwasher-safe in the manual. If hand-washing one pot is the chore you most want to avoid, that should weigh heavily in your choice.

For ragù or risotto, look beyond the rice button

For a ragù routine, ask whether you can brown ingredients and continue cooking in the same vessel. For risotto, look for an actual recipe and the texture it is intended to produce; a short-grain rice setting alone is not evidence of a hands-off risotto programme.

If your preferred method involves stirring and gradual stock additions, decide whether you want to preserve that method or adopt a different one.

The OL750EU manual documents a sear/sauté function for browning and simmering sauces. Its Italian product page lists pressure cooking, Combi-Steam and a 7.5-litre removable pot. Those capabilities make it a candidate for a varied meal routine, rather than a direct promise of superior rice. OL750EU instructions · Italian model specifications.

We have not tested a ragù or risotto recipe in either appliance. For those dishes, confirm an appropriate recipe before treating the machine as a replacement for your current process.

The cleaning may decide it

The OL750EU manual permits dishwashing the pot, multi-purpose tin, silicone ring, rack, basket and detachable diffuser. The base, digital probe and probe cap must not go in the dishwasher or be immersed.

The lid still needs attention: Ninja provides a steam-cleaning procedure followed by wiping once cool. The seal can retain food odours. EU manual, cleaning section.

Count the components used by your usual meal, not every accessory in the box. One pot plus a rack and a seal can still mean more handling than a rice bowl. Conversely, replacing several pans can make the larger machine easier to live with.

What to check in a European kitchen

The EU Sakura is rated for 220–240V; the Italian OL750EU page lists 230V. Check the exact plug, space above the lid, and replacement-bowl supply. A machine that must be lifted out of a cupboard every night may not save the effort you expect. EU Sakura specifications.

Keep scheduling within the manual’s food-safety guidance: Sakura warns against leaving perishable ingredients waiting for long periods. A long timer is not a reason to leave meat or dairy unrefrigerated until cooking starts.

What actual owners add to the decision

A Sakura owner describes buying it to have grains ready on returning home, then reporting good results with brown rice, oats and quinoa. Another uses it for vegetables, gyoza and slow-cooked meals as well as rice.

These are useful examples of a routine built around the appliance, not recipes or guaranteed results. Sakura review, May 2026 · Sakura review, September 2026.

The learning curve matters too: one Sakura buyer liked the results but initially found its finish-time timer awkward. Our takeaway is to set up and practise the timer before relying on it for a busy evening. Sakura review, June 2025.

A Ninja owner describes making roast chicken and potatoes in the same appliance, but still turning food and adding finishing time. Another praised ragù and stews before later reporting difficulty cleaning the lid area and obtaining spares in 2023.

A 2026 review found air frying noisy. These observations make the OL750EU more relevant to someone happy to learn a cooking system than someone expecting a silent, entirely unattended dinner.

The historical spare-parts complaint is not a statement about stock today. Ninja meal experience · Ninja review with follow-up · Ninja noise experience.

Our recommendation by routine

Choose Sakura if taking rice off your mental checklist matters more than eliminating hand-washing. Shortlist OL750EU if you will use its broader meal functions and can accommodate the appliance and its clean-up. Keep looking if remote control is the feature your day actually depends on.
